Somethings are said in passing and over time that “thing” becomes a truly meaningful part of how you experience life. Rev. Melanie Alexander and Eddie have been friends for more years than they can remember.  Melanie is a brilliant, vivacious, and beautiful human being.  She once said to us in passing, “You guys are the perfect couple! If y’all ever decide to get married, I would be honored to marry you.”  At the time, although we had talked about getting hitched a couple times in passing, I said, “thank you”, nodded, and went along with it.  Somewhere in the back of my mind though, when I imagined Eddie and I getting married, it became synonymous with Melanie officiating.

As we drove back from mountains to Knoxville on Sunday, we excitedly discussed ideas and plans for the wedding.  At one-point Eddie said, “Well, who should we get to marry us?”  Without even a thought, we both simultaneously said, “Melanie!”  Without missing a beat, Eddie called Melanie and told her about the engagement.  He said, “We have an important question to ask you?”, and proceeded to ask, if she would do us the honor of officiating our wedding.  With an excited squeal she answered, “Oh my God, Yes!”

Since then we have spent time with Melanie, explaining our vision for our special day and letting her guide us, as we strive to make a meaningful and memorable day.  Stefana, Koumbaro, Jordan Almonds… the Greeks love their weddings!

We sometimes stand back and wonder how she does everything she does.   She is a true innovator!  She is the creator and concept-architect for AlmaDiem™ Office and Salon Suites.   Over the years, Melanie has grown her personal brand into a socially and spiritually conscious national platform, as a motivational speaker, life coach, and business consultant, focused on transforming the lives of others and awakening the possibilities within then.  Honestly, when all is said and done…we just feel truly blessed to call her our friend.

We are now excitedly waiting for that perfect, warm autumn day next year, when she will ask us that ever so important question, “Will you?”
