We are incredibly excited that Jeryd’s grandfather will be performing at the reception on Saturday, October 2.

Jack Greer has been playing music, recorded albums, and entertained live audiences for nearly fifty years! Jack is a song stylist whose passion is performing.  Born in Kodiak, Alaska but raised in the South, Jack has performed all over the country. His taste in music has informed his performances. Jack’s musical range allows him to be equally comfortable singing rock, folk, country, or blues. Jack has a captivating, high-energy presence that transports the audience into the story of a misty-eyed lover’s past, a dusty stranger passing through another nameless town, or a jealous man’s revenge.

So during the reception, you might hear some of Jack’s originals, but don’t be surprised if you hear some Jimmy Buffet, James Taylor, John Hiatt, Jackson Browne, Dave Mason, Jerry Jeff Walker, Crosby, or the Eagles. Working as a solo artist, Father-Son Duo, or with his four-piece Jack Greer Band. Jack is ready to play for any occasion, bar, or establishment.

Jeryd had planned to have his grandfather play a song that is one part melody and two parts memory for us, “Life is Beautiful” by Keb Mo. On New Year’s Eve 2019, Trinity and Nikky (Jeryd’s parents) danced affectionately in front of the stage. Julie (Jack’s wife/Jeryd’s Grandmother) watched, misty-eyed and smiling, to a song dedicated to her, and Jeryd was leaning back on me as Jack played this song. It was a magical moment as 2019 peeked its head into our lives. A special moment neither of us forgot.  One that Jeryd planned to ask Jack to recreate and surprise me by playing this song at the reception.  But… I had the same thought and in Jeryd’s good-humored, teasing words, “I ruined” the surprise. We encourage you to go and give it a listen so you can sing along when the time comes.
