It’s been a really rainy day today, and there was very little we could do inside or out, so Eddie and I decided to make a lazy day of it!  (God knew we can use the rest.)     After playing a few video games, watching some anime, and napping, we decided we needed some food!  In order to feel like we were being a little bit productive, we decided to order some barbecue, so we could check off yet another restaurant from the list of my elaborate plan.   So, we order some barbecue from Dickey’s on Bite Squad™ (the source of most of our nourishment).

We order barbecued Polish sausage, Georgia pulled pork, and a double helping of Texas beef brisket.  The food arrives and we dig-in to the mac-n-cheese, potato salad, and green beans. The barbecued Polish sausage was by far the best. We agreed that everything was good, but the sides weren’t exactly what we were looking for. The potato salad was particularly disappointing for Ed.  He prefers a mustard-based potato salad and this was a bland sour cream-based recipe. Although we think this place is a good choice for ordering dinner from occasionally, it does not meet our vision for the reception.

-As an aside-
Eddie and I realized at this point that we weren’t going to find the sides and the main course we were looking for at the same restaurant. Looking at the catering options that barbecue restaurants offer, amounted to basically dropping off the food and leaving.  We agreed that we would need to hire a caterer that would provide the type of service we were looking for, as well as, have them make the sides we wanted, and have them get the sauces and entrees from whatever barbecue joint we liked the most.  As an added benefit, this allowed us to add more vegan and vegetarian options to the menu. So…now we begin the search for a caterer.
