WEDDING COURTESIES & CONSIDERATIONS

We’ve put a lot of thought into the guestlist for the wedding and reception. Don’t forget we know you guys and we still invited you. Because we know how much trouble our friends and family can cause individually, we can only surmise that collectively a whole lot of epic shenanigans might ensue. For this fact, we ask that you carefully read these courtesies and considerations and do the best you can…

RSVP
We kindly ask that you visit our website and RSVP by Monday, September 6, 2021. You may RSVP Online Here.

Adults Only
Unfortunately, due to the nature of the venue and to allow all wedding guests, including parents, a weekend of relaxation and uninhibited revelry, we respectfully ask that no children under the age of 17 attend the weekend’s events– thank you for your understanding.

Event Attire
For the Wedding Ceremony on Friday, October 1, 2021, we request formal attire and encourage kilts. (No jeans, t-shirts, or utility kilts, if possible.) For the Reception on Saturday, October 2, 2021, we request guests come dressed cute, casual, and comfortable, remembering that the photographer will be taking pictures throughout the evening. (No t-shirts or distressed jeans, please.)

Arrival
As an honored guest, we ask that you ideally arrive 30-minutes before the ceremony begins to find seating. The ceremony is scheduled to begin promptly at 2:00 p.m.

Outside Food or Beverages
Due to the nature of our agreements with our vendors, no outside food or beverages can be allowed.

Place Cards
To accommodate our guests’ individual health and dietary-related needs, we have assigned seating for the reception, and we ask you to be thoughtful and refrain from moving the place cards.

Toasts, Roasts, and Speeches
Except for a few select people, we are limiting toasts and speeches to the micro-reception immediately following the ceremony.

Cellular Telephones
Kindly silence electronic devices during the ceremony.

Smoking
We ask that smoking be limited to the designated area of the covered bridge. Please dispose of cigarette butts appropriately.

Modified Open Bar
A modified open bar will be provided during the reception. If you plan on partaking in adult libations, know your limits. We encourage you to contemplate a designated driver ahead of time. We know you guys pretty well. Just remember, all drunken shenanigans will be captured and mocked for years to come. Proceed with caution.

Dancing
You know how important music and dance are to us, so it should be no surprise that we planned the reception around it! We’re not going to force you to dance, but at no time should the dance floor be empty after the dancing starts.  Well, okay, we are going to force you. We are asking everyone to dance in one extraordinary group dance!

Photographs & Social Media
Please don’t use a flash while taking personal photos. We have retained a professional photographer and videographer to capture our special day and flash photography can significantly disrupt the quality of both services. Save selfies for the dance party and leave the important pictures and videos to our pros. Share your photos with our unique hashtag #NewlyJED. For many reasons, please refrain from posting photographs and videos on social media until after the ceremony.

Respect the Environment and the Venue
Please respect the stunning beauty of the venue and its natural environment. Help us keep it that way by disposing of trash in designated containers.

Enjoy
We know it sounds like a lot of rules, but we also know that for everyone to have a good time we have to have them.  Our most significant rule is “enjoy the party!” We’ve spent 16-months planning this weekend so that we can spend this special time with our family and friends.

Thank you,
Jeryd & Eddie
